PM To Lay Foundation Stone For Green Hydrogen Hub Near Vizag On Nov 29
Amaravati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for NTPC-led Green Hydrogen Hub envisaged at Pudimadaka at a cost of Rs 84,700 crore on November 29.
This was confirmed by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP strongman N Chandrababu Naidu on the floor of the Assembly. The MoU for the project by the power major NTPC was signed during the investors' summit organised by the erstwhile government last year.
The project will come up in an area of 1200 acres, which was earlier allotted to NTPC by AP Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) for establishing a 4,000 MW coal-powered power plant. The project was scrapped after holding a public hearing due to a change in strategy by the Union Government to allow only power plants with coal produced within the country.
The Green Hydrogen Hub is expected to provide employment opportunities to 25,000. It will generate eco-friendly 1200 tonnes of green hydrogen daily. There is a provision to convert it into export grade green ammonia and green methanol. The project will facilitate decarbonisation in a big way and support India's target to raise 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
Chandrababu Naidu told the Assembly that the TDP-led NDA government is developing the State into a global job destination.
"The main target of my government is providing employment to the youth. The goal of any policy that will be brought in is providing jobs to the youth as youth is our asset and if employment is provided to them they will create wealth," he said during a discussion on the six policies on industry adopted recently.
The Chief Minister said that the new policies have been adopted to move ahead with the plan of 'Think Globally and Act Globally.' If wealth is created the revenue of the State will go up after which more welfare schemes can be implemented for the people, Naidu said.
Stating that efforts are on to establish 22 lakh MSMEs, the Chief Minister announced that a corpus fund has been formed with Rs 500 crore for setting up an innovation hub. "We will interlink 175 industrial parks with this innovation hub and incentives will be provided on a large scale if farmers come forward for setting up food processing centres," the Chief Minister said. He also said that three agency districts will soon be declared as organic zones.
Regretting that there were no investments in the State in the past five years, Naidu said that unable to bear the harassment even those existing units ran away from the State. Service sector should develop if assets are to be created, he felt. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a vision of Vikasitha Bharat-2047 by which time the country will become either No. 1 or 2 Nation in the world. Novel policies are being adopted by the State to take Andhra Pradesh to number one position in the country by that time, the Chief Minister said.
The best policy in the country has been adopted by the State Government to extend maximum possible incentives to those who come forward to invest in the State, he said. He also felt that the State gets the maximum benefit with the food processing industry too.
The State has suffered a lot due to the destructive policies of the previous government, Naidu said and stated that the State Government will provide all kinds of assurance to those who come forward to invest here.
